We wandered off one weekend to visit random places like we always do, and of course a vape shop had to pop up in the planning. Our youngest child was not really entertained by the idea of visiting yet another vape shop, not because she does not understand them of course but because most of the time they bore her far too much. I can understand where she is coming from as she would rather be playing with friends, doing some kicks at the dojo or playing a video game. What kid wouldn’t?
As we walked in we were first greeted by Chris who broke down how the place came to be with the recent renovations. Within a few minutes Barbara came out of a little room in the far back corner to join in and once the adults got into the conversation of how vaping is now becoming mainstream, the child wandered around to check things out for herself ignoring us completely.
The general presence of the place is “warm and fuzzy” to me, for the guys out there – the place was “comfortable”. I have lived in the south for the past decade and when I think of southern comfort (not the drink) & southern hospitality I am thinking of this place.
We talked about the juices lined up behind the counter, how they were made while we tested out some of their flavors and how other companies don’t steep their juices. Looking around the store gear was spread out across the counters and shelves, which was quite impressive for a smaller storefront. We also talked about what might be up & coming within the vape world dealing both with the law makers and those who lobby for and against the idea of vaping.
Barbara explained how she makes their juices, they have 50 you can taste test and we tried at least a dozen while we were there. They market for “high quality steeped tobaccos” which is fine and I love that they actually let their juices settle. There is nothing worse than getting a bottle of juice in the mail and then having to wait before you use it. Here you can walk in, get the juices you want, walk out & vape – it’s just that simple.
Keep in mind we went to visit back in March and I still have a good bit of their juices (I will be talking more about these within an upcoming review). The things we talked about as far as vaping and the law makers go has really stuck in my mind since then. Some of the things we wondered about have already come to light recently like the proposed regulations and how many people who vape are concerned about how this is being spun within the media outlets.
Village Vapors is one of my top three picks in the local area now. I am juice picky but that is just me, I still require a good juice to pass both the smell and the vape test. They have a good amount of gear for any new person out there looking to shop around and many interesting pieces which fit for others who are more experienced.
I noticed some newer gear checking out their page on Facebook this week (spinners, adapters, driptips & some pipe styles too) plus they also have some new juices which means we need to plan for another trip out. One change that has happened since March is that all juices, except their signature blends are available in 10ml bottles only. This change was due to feedback received from their customer base and 10ml bottles are $4.99 or 3 for $13.00.
The staff goes beyond being friendly and helpful with questions for a novice or a vet and of course they have a cat. This cat has been named the “Vape Cat” by my youngest so it shall be named “Vape Cat” anytime I reference Village Vapors. What vape shop doesn’t need a company mascot? You can check the kitty out on their Facebook page or stop by to see the little buddy in person while picking up new vape gear and test out some local juices at their location 308 Fairview Street Fountain Inn, South Carolina 29644. If by any chance you get lost and need directions just call, (864) 630-5143.
We dropped by AquaVape on Saturday to check out the store and buy some juices. The store is nicely laid out with several tables where customer can sample AquaVape juices.
Hardware
AquaVapor has a large selection of hardware including clones which I think is great for customers from a cost perspective. You can buy an ehpro kayfun clone for $59 which is about $10 over “internet pricing” but in my opinion worth it for the convenience.
Juice
I purchased my normal low strength strawberry for review. In my opinion the juice is ok but not great, it has that “real” strawberry flavor/smell but I don’t taste much flavor and I tend to want to taste my flavors. Having said that I have vaped 5ml of this juice (in a dripper) without any issues. For a house juice it’s pretty good and some people may prefer mild flavors. So it turns out that this flavor is pretty great! I decided to try it sub ohm and the flavor really came out. I prefer Jameson Amelia but that’s expensive juice and to come close at this price range is great.
Staff
The staff was very friendly and while we were in the store they provided several customers with great advice. They allowed us to take pictures and answered all of my questions.
All in all I think AquaVapor is a great local vape shop, drop buy and check them out!

Here are some pictures that we took at the NicVape store when we dropped by:
Back in December we reviewed Vapesicle / NicVape which had a kiosk in the Greenville, SC Haywood mall as their only retail presence. NicVape has been very busy over the past few months not only dropping the Vapesicle branding and centralizing on the NicVape brand name, but also setting up an impressive retail store. The store is located at 1451 Woodruff Rd. Unit C Greenville, SC 29607. We had some trouble getting to the location via GPS so just keep in mind that they are located next to Staples in “Shoppes at Woodruff” behind Chick-fil-A.
We really like NicVape; the quality experience and friendly atmosphere certainly extends to the new retail location. Every NicVape employee that I have interacted with has been extremely courteous and willing to provide me with as much information as I wanted. As you can see in the slider above there is a large assortment of gear available for purchase. They have some very interesting mods including the Ameravape Manhattan which was very tempting. Between several display cases full of mods, tanks, batteries, drippers, etc and the giant wall of juice there is a plethora of shiny things to entice almost any customer. They also offer a Vape bar where you can sample all of their juices which is a really nice touch.
I spoke to Colin Rick at length during my visit about a wide variety of subjects including their plans to expand to another Greenville retail store at Cherrydale Point. We talked about anti-vaping legislation and NicVape’s role in fighting the good fight against government overreach. NicVape is a facility that is setup to conform to FDA standards and practices, but they are also willing to represent the refillable industry in order to keep any legislation at a reasonable level which they have already done on several occasions at both the local and national level. There are few companies with the resources and corporate culture that it takes to shoulder the burden of fighting the government in a new product category and I applaud their willingness to step into the ring.
Last week we visited the new Simpsonville location for Vapor Realm. This is the best local Greenville area vape shop that we have seen so far in terms of stock gear and employee knowledge. The selection of Batteries, RDA’s, and Tanks is very good and they seem to be keeping up with the latest online trends and upcoming gear.
When we stopped by there were 2 employees working and they both seemed to be genuine vapers unlike most of the stores that we have visited where anyone outside of the owner never heard of vaping prior to their employment in the industry.
Like all of the shops that I visit I asked for a strawberry based house blend to gauge their inhouse juices. I hate to say it because I think this place is great but their house blend juice just wasn’t that good. Perhaps I received a bad mix but it is all I have to base my decision on and it tasted very flat. Having said that they do carry an assortment of Five Pawns and Suicide Bunny premium juices.
Vapor Realm has a very good website that is consistent with their in-store stock and pricing.
Drop by Vapor Realm today and support our local Vape Supply Stores.
Carolina Vapor Mill has been advertising pretty heavily over the last 2 months in the Upstate area. They are located in Spartanburg at 807 North Pine Street Spartanburg, SC 29303; their hours are Monday-Saturday 10am to 8pm, and Sunday 12pm to 6pm. I stopped by around noon on a Sunday and the place was packed. The atmosphere was nice and they provide a sitting area for people to hang out and talk with others about vaping. Unfortunately I didn’t have a lot of time so I was in and out fairly quickly. (more…)

So I just disabled the button on my 2 caliburn Gs because I'm a bartender and frequently have to pocket the device. It would fire in my pocket and burn the coils in just a couple hours.
